Blue Hole Falls

The trail to Blue Hole Falls and High Shoals Falls takes you down 600 feet over the course of a mile and a half. You understand, of course, that you then must walk back up those 600 feet to get back to your car. This happens a lot when waterfall hunting. You get the easy part first and then have to pay for it after you’ve seen the prize. Believe me, this is way worse an experience than first walking up the mountain, reveling in God’s creation and then walking down the mountain.

Also I was very moved by the novel “The Samurai” by Shūsaku Endō and went on this hike specifically to reflect on it.

I have no idea why It’s important for me to note that here though…

Also, you have to ford a creek to get here. Check this article for more info.
